体坛英语资讯:Burga reelected head of the Peruvian Football Federation

With 25 out of 35 votes, Manuel Burga on Friday was elected president of the Peruvian Football Federation (PFP), for the second consecutive period.

Burga, who will lead the PFP for the next four years, is the target of criticism from the press and Peruvian fans, since Peru is in second to last place in the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) rankings.

On Thursday, one of the candidates resigned from the election, saying that there were irregularities regarding the inscription of Burga and former international referee Alberto Tejada, in the election.

Burga will be accompanied by the directors of eight teams, all of them in local leagues. His list does not include any directors from the professional first division leagues.

According to the rules, 41 representatives could place their vote, 25 from local leagues, and 16 from professional first division leagues.

However, four local directors could not place their votes because they did not have their national identity document.

In addition, the president of the University Sports Club, Cesar Vallejo de Trujillo, did not participate in the vote.
