体坛英语资讯:Tiger Woods: affairs, divorce bring distraction to play

Tiger Woods admitted that his extramarital affairs and the divorce proceedings had brought distraction and made it nearly impossible to play in golf tournaments this season, according to media reports Thursday.

The golf star also told reporters that he was greatly saddened by the divorce in his first public appearance since the announcement of the divorce two day ago.

“My actions certainly led us to this decision and I’ve made a lot of errors in my life. That’s something I’m going to have to live with,” he said.

"It's a sad time and we're going through it right now and as far as my game and practicing, you know, that's -- that's been secondary."

Wood's ex-wife Nordegren said earlier in an interview that she had “been through hell” since revelations about Woods’s infidelity surfaced. She said that she'll forgive Tiger someday, but "forgiveness takes time."

Woods avoided questions on Nordegren's interview, saying "I wish her the best in everything. It's a sad time in our lives. And we're looking forward to how we can help our kids the best way we possibly can. And that's the most important thing."
